My Turn

Well yesterday was my turn to get my new puter, woohoo. Tax season is just nuts right now, to all of you out there who wait to that last minute, stop it. Ok off to bed, need sleep, have to go into work early tomorrow.

You Say

Tim Horton’s Cashier: “How can I help you?”

Me: “Can I have a chocolate chip muffin and a diet coke in a bottle

Cashier (after punching in my order): “Would you like a can or bottle?”

Me: “A bottle please”

Ummm hello, did you hear me? I’ve been into this Timmy’s about maybe a dozen times at the most since they opened and this was one of my better encounters with them. Wow that came out sounding kindy snotty didn’t it. I guess I just got a chuckle out of the whole is that a can or bottle question.

On a totally unrelated note the people on my bus this morning must of thought I just a little crazy as I started chuckling to Lisa Loeb. I just couldn’t get the image of Scrivs latest video out of my head.

Advertising Slogan

You know when you get something stuck in your head and just can’t can’t get rid of it, damnit I hate that. Today while examining the sad state of our staplers at work, one of my co-workers spit it an advertising slogan from a while back. “I can’t see the difference, can you see the difference.” That has been officially stuck in my head all afternoon, now as annoying is that is the part that’s really got me all in a twist is that I can’t remember what company it was for. Both Simon and I have spent some time googling advertising slogans and commercials but don’t seem to be able to track it down. Anyone out there remember who it was for, it would be great if we could get some help on this one.

New This, That and the Other

Wow there’s been a whole lot of new stuff the last few days, well not a whole lot but a few things, enough to keep us busy.

First and foremost the biggest of our new stuff is our new computer. Woohoo. We’ve been keeping and eye on the computer prices for the last month or so and the combination of a non-rent payday and a really good sale at best buy resulted in us coming home with a new computer last night. It’s so exciting, can’t say that I’ve ever actually purchased a new computer, they’ve always been hand me downs from Mom and Dad. So that felt pretty darn good, then we had to decide who got to use the new one. It came down to the fact that of our two current computers Simon’s was the slowest and the oldest so he got the new one. It’s not been easy and I’ve had moments of weakness but overall he’s spent most of the time on it without me trying to help (aka take over). Every time he goes to the bathroom, or does something in the kitchen I jump onto it and play around a bit more. It’s been fun. In case your wondering what we got here’s all the specs on CNET.

The other newness is During a moment of insanity I decided to register another domain, you can read about it on the blog I set up over there. You have to read it to understand why we went with that domain.

That’s actually it for new stuff, unless you count the groceries Simon just got back from the store with, but those are hardly blog worthy so I’ll move on. It just seems like more newness until you start writing about about it. OK I’m definitely rambling now, enough for tonight.

Oh yeah, there’s a couple of flickr picks to check out on the new puter.

How did you treat your last waiter/waitress?

“A person who is nice to you but rude to the waiter, or to others, is not a nice person.” A good article on top CEOs can see a person’s character on how they treat people on the lower end of the ladder.

Just need a test post to see if I’ve fixed thunderbird. It’s got an annoying habit of downloading the same feeds over and over again. Trying a few things from MozillaZine.

Just playing around with the FlickrRSS plugin and I need a post to fill up some space.

UPDATE: Woohoo it worked, notice the pics above, up there, yes there.

Bottle Cap Tripod

Oh sure now that we’ve bought two tripods, I find this. Looks so handy for those times that your out taking pics and have forgotten to bring a tripod.
